Remember when...

Usually i think blog games are lame..HOWEVER this one seems pretty fun! U should try it :0)
Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

River Rats

SO after work the other day, Matt and i decided to go float down the Sacramento River for fun. So we grabbed our tubes and fishing poles and took off towards the river. We made it to the Sac in no time and 'launched'..Here's my cute hubby!

...and heres me right after we got in.

So ive decided that tubing while fishing is my new favorite thing! Floating down the river is so fun and relaxing and when you add fishing to the mix it equals perfection! As we were gliding along i heard loud splashing so i look over to see what it was and i saw 6 little heads poking out of the water! I thought they were beavers at first and was kinda uneasy because I heard they were vicious and didnt want to get attacked, but they turned out to be river otters! It was so cool to see those guys swimmin along and doing a little fishing themselves..those guys were too quick for me to take a pic tho..sorry! However i DO have a pic of one of the fish that i caught!

..its called a 'Shad'.

It was my first time catching a shad fish and it was exciting! Heres Matt lookin studly in his tube..

It took about an hour or so to float down to Scotty's..its a little BBQ place on the river where we ate some yummy burgers for dinner and i sang some kareoke in my fishing vest...a perfect ending to a perfect day on the river with my best friend!

Lots of Visitors

So last week Matt and i had some visitors! First Matts bro Andrew came down to hang out for a couple days before he moved to Russia!

Heres the boys eating taco truck goodness :0)

We played bocce ball at the park...

..and had a good ol' time :0)

We also said hello to the 'steed'

The next day Matt took Andrew fishing while i was at work and didnt take ANY pictures.......men...They had fun however :0) Thanks for coming to see us bro..we love youuu!! Then we had MORE visitors! My sister Tara, her hubby, their 5 children and my mom came up to see us! They all managed to squeeze into our little place and it was alot of fun :0) The kids enjoyed playing with all of our critters!

...this is our neighbors cat that we want to steal :0) jk

We had a picnic by the river and went swimming! look what i caught :0)

gross huh? The kids liked it tho ;0)

We also found this guy..isn't he CUTE??

..I thought so :0)

Then we walked to the park and wore out the kids a little more :0)

Life Lessons

You may have thought I didn't see,
Or that I hadn't heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.

Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we'd grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It's written on my heart.

Without you, Dad, I wouldn't be
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.

I've grown up with your values,
And I'm very glad I did;
So here's to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.

Matt turned 26 on June 6th! For his birthday i bought him a SUPER COOL Toshiba laptop and he loves it! I like to mess around and tell him that hes almost 30 to bug him ;0) I gave him the option to do WHATEVER his heart desires on his B-day and guess what he came up with!?..

Yes..thats right..we fished ALL DAY long and had a blast! I love being married to my best friend :0) Happy Birthday mi ammore!

Memorial Day

Matt and i FINALLY got the chance to go camping! We packed up our fishing gear and the Daisy mutt and were off.First we went here...

It was really pretty and i was told that Mill Creek was a great fly-fishing spot but it seemed as though the snow run-off made Mill Creek into a MILK Creek :0)

The water was all murky so we decided to move on to a place i heard of called Battle Creek. Im glad we went there becuase it turned out to be my new favorite fishing spot! We set up our campsite and headed for the river :0) And this is what we found..

It was SO pretty and the water was perfect! I believe i caught the first fish ;0)

The reason i look so lovely is because it started raining on us! BOOO! But at least the fish were still biting :0)

As we were hiking down the river we came accross this neat old abandoned cottage..

Cool HUH? We continued to fish until it started getting dark and we headed back to camp. It started raining pretty good so we couldnt have a fire that night..sad, i know, but we got to cook our chili dogs on our handy-dandy camping stove ;0)

Heres me bumming around camp before the real rain hit!

..thank goodness our tent was waterproof!!
The next morning we woke up and made a fire Cause it was freezing! After we ate our cereal and warmed up a bit we decided to fish a little more. I must say that Daisy dog is shaping up to be quite the mountain dog..she did great! I was pleasantly surprised how well she kept up with us on our strenuous hikes over rocks and cliffs and accross the river..good girl :0)

We caught some more whoppers and i had some MONSTERS on my line that got away..no joke! We will definately be going back soon when the weather is a little better and ill get some pictures of the monster trout that i speak of ;0) We saw the rain coming again so we made the trek back to camp and packed up. Over all i must say it was a fabulous fishing trip!
