Our Beach Adventure

SO last week we went on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Monterey Bay (one of my fav places!) We havent done anything cool/interesting/fun in a while so we decided to JUST DO IT! :0) We stayed in a hotel with an ocean view and enjoyed the new scenery/sites for a couple of days! Easton hadnt been to the beach before so he got his first beach experience...and im pretty sure he LOVED it! Here he is getting sand in his toes for the first time..
I was curious to see how he would do with the whole sand thing...we all know it gets everywhere and Easton doesnt really like to get his hands dirty. Its pretty funny actually because whenever he gets something questionable on his hands he always comes running over to me with his little hands out for me to clean them off. (Silly boy! :0) So i was surprised to find that he loved playing in the sand/getting it all over us himself ..but i think what he loved the most was playing in the waves!

Daddy time ♥
Mommy time ♥
Watching my little boy run/play at the beach for the first time was definitely the highlight of the trip for me! I see lots of family beach trips in our future :0) We also went to this super awesome park called 'Dennis the Menace Park'.
Mommy Easton had a blast there! ;0) This slide was super fun!!!
That night we walked from our hotel to Bubba Gumps shrimp factory for some yummy seafood grub..(LOVE that place!) But sadly i forgot my camera! This was really funny: our hotel wasnt right on the beach but the fancier one across the street was..and at like 2 in the morning ( i was up pretty much all night w/Easton) there were a bunch of seals barking super loud on the beach..eventually i heard this guy yell 'SHUTTTT  UUUPPPP!' out his hotel window at the seals! It made me die laughing! :0) The next moring we woke up and walked to the Monterey Bay Aquarium...i cant believe what a rip off how pricey that place is! It was worth it though...I wanted to take more pictures but it was quite difficult chasing Easton around! He wasnt as thrilled with all the fish as i thought he would be but it was still lots of fun! My favorite part is always the jellyfish..they are super cool!
We also got to see close to 100 dolphins swimming by in a big group..that was pretty cool! After the aquarium we went to the fishermans warf (pier) for some yummy clam chowder in bread bowls (my favorite!) and we watched the sea slugs fight for real estate on this old floating doc..Its the funniest thing to watch!! (cheap entertainment ;0)
After we ate our chowder we hit the road and headed home...it was a short but awesome trip! :0)

  4. Ok, as I was reading your post I was thinking how much I love Monterey. My Grandparents lived there and it was one of my favorite places to go growing up. When I saw that you went to Dennis the Menace park I got a little teary eyed. We played there all the time. The red slide was my favorite. What a wonderful trip you guys had. I'm so very jealous.

  5. What a fun time!!!!! I always think its funny that small kids almost always hate the sand in there toes. Living close to the beach, almost all of my friends kids HATED the sand. Crazy!! The jellies are beautiful! I would have enjoyed watching the seals.
